Chemical Peel

Chemical peels diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and unevenness in skin tone caused by acne scarring or other pigment changes. This powerful, yet not damaging peel can take years off aging skin and reverse the effects of time, sun damage, and environmental toxins.

At Ivy, we offer three advanced peel options to help improve skin tone, texture, and overall radiance: the Vitalize Peel, the Perfect Peel, and BioRePeel. The Vitalize Peel is ideal for mild to moderate skin imperfections, while the Perfect Peel is a medium-depth peel with the added benefit of glutathione, a powerful antioxidant that helps brighten and rejuvenate the skin. BioRePeel is an innovative, no- to minimal-downtime peel that combines exfoliating acids, amino acids, and vitamins to stimulate skin renewal, improve acne, reduce fine lines, and enhance overall skin quality year-round.

What to Expect

Pre Treatment Instructions

Do not use chemical or physical exfoliants on the face for 1 week before the appointment
Refrain from using foundation for a few days before your treatment
Avoid a suntan for one week before service
Stay hydrated on the day of the peel
Avoid any products that dry out your skin for 3 days before the appointment

During Your Treatment

During your appointment, our staff will explain the procedure and answer any questions. The actual application of the peel takes approximately 20 minutes, but plan for a 30-minute appointment. Tolerance of the peel varies from person to person, however, tingling or burning sensations are a normal expected reaction. A fan may be used during the procedure to minimize the discomfort which typically resolves within a few minutes.

Aftercare

Do not wash your face for 6 hours after the peel
Avoid strenuous exercise for 12 hours after, and no Hot Yoga for 5 days
Wait one week before having facial hair removal services
Take extra precautions against sun exposure
Your skin may feel dry and itchy
Peeling typically begins on days 2-5 and may last up to one week. DO NOT PICK OR PULL THE SKIN.

Is This Service Right For Me?

The Vitalize Peel, BioRePeel, and Perfect Peel are suitable for all skin types. While you may notice visible improvement after just one treatment, we typically recommend a series of 3–6 peels spaced approximately one month apart to achieve optimal results and long-lasting skin rejuvenation. If you have any active cold sores or warts, large open wounds, severe sunburn, or inflammatory rosacea in the area to be treated, please wait for these to heal before making an appointment.

A peel should not be performed if you have an allergy to salicylates (aspirin) or if you are pregnant or nursing. Please wait three months if you have taken Accutane, or received chemotherapy or radiation
