What to Expect
Pre Treatment Instructions
To get the best results, it’s important to prep your skin for 1-2 weeks prior to treatment. We recommend using D·E·J Daily Boosting Serum® and D·E·J Face Cream®, both included in our Procedure Prep & Recover Regimen. Be sure to apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily and discontinue use of products containing alpha, beta, or poly hydroxy acids, as well as retinoids.
During Your Treatment
During your appointment, our staff will explain the procedure and answer any questions. The actual application of the BioStim treatment takes approximately 20 minutes, but plan for a 30-minute appointment. You may feel mild to moderate sensations such as burning, itching, stinging, or tingling. Your skin may appear pink to red as layers are applied – this is normal and typically fades within 30 minutes. Most patients experience minimal downtime and enjoy visibly glowing skin immediately after treatment, returning to daily activities without interruption. Tolerance of the treatment varies from person to person.
Aftercare
- Mild redness, dryness, tightness, or itching may occur and is normal. These effects typically resolve within a few days.
- Flaking or peeling may begin around Day 3 and typically resolves by Day 7. Not everyone experiences peeling.
- Do not pick, peel, or exfoliate flaking skin. Allow the skin to shed naturally.
- Use only the recommended post-treatment skincare products provided by your provider for the first several days after treatment.
- Keep skin well moisturized throughout the healing process.
- Apply SPF 30+ daily and minimize direct sun exposure for at least one week following treatment.
- Avoid excessive heat, hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, and strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours.
- Avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids (AHA/BHA/PHA), vitamin C, scrubs, and other active skincare products for 3-5 days or until your skin has fully recovered.
- For best results, a series of 3 treatments spaced 2–4 weeks apart is recommended, followed by maintenance treatments every 4 months.

The D·E·J BioStim™ Treatment is suitable for all skin types and tones looking to improve skin firmness, elasticity, and overall radiance. It is an excellent option for individuals experiencing signs of aging as well as those noticing skin laxity or volume-related changes associated with weight loss, including the use of GLP-1 medications such as semaglutide.
While this treatment is well tolerated by most patients, it may not be appropriate for individuals with very sensitive skin, active cold sores, known allergies to any of the treatment ingredients, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or those taking prescription or over-the-counter medications that may be contraindicated. Because the formula contains salicylic acid, individuals with an aspirin or salicylate allergy should consult their healthcare provider before treatment.
